Glyn Jones
Director of Advanced Learning Associates
Glyn works as a Coach, and facilitates Leadership and Management Development, Personal Development and Team Development activities.

He has over 20 years experience including fifteen as head of training and development departments of a number of large organisations.

He has consulted with organisations in health care, the public sector, automobile manufacturing and sales, food manufacturing, steel making, banking, housing associations, petroleum, IT and higher education.

Glyn brings extensive experience of working with leaders and managers at senior levels in international banks, higher education and conglomerates.

The techniques he uses include 360 degree feedback, Psychometric Instruments, appropriate methods of Coaching and Action Learning.

He identifies the process of enabling individuals in making the transition from leading self to leading others and from leading a team to leading other managers as being critical to the success of leaders in organisations. He works extensively with individuals in overcoming barriers and becoming effective leaders.

Glyn is an associate of the Leadership Foundation of Higher Education for the UK, an organisation dedicated to enhancing the quality of leaders and managers in the sector.

Robert Gibson
Partners in Development
Robert has been a team member, supervisor, manager and leader throughout all stages of his working life. He also has a wealth of other relevant inputs including public appointments in the arts as well as jazz playing and radio broadcasting.

He has a reputation for working in a sensitive, client-centred way to surface issues that need thorough attention. In order to build a trusting and positive climate, he creates a supportive and challenging relationship (in whatever the development setting) so that true ownership of and commitment for the desired change is achieved.

He has experience in Training, Development and HR roles in Manufacturing, Wholesale and Retail for the Cooperative Movement; HR, Training and Development for ICI Fibres then senior management in ICI Chemicals and Polymers, latterly as architect and leader for global Total Quality education and workforce engagement.

Stuart Hunt
Stuart Hunt Ltd
Stuart Hunt has worked in the HE sector for the last 17 years as a professional trainer and consultant, specialising in the areas of Communication and Management skills and in Team development.

Over recent years he has become increasingly engaged in organisational development, and provides support to people and teams working through significant organisational change; he also provides coaching support to managers.

Since 2006, Stuart has been an independent management and organisational development consultant, and is a key Associate of the LFHE.

Previously, Stuart was working as the Management Development Manager at the University of Central Lancashire, where he was the project leader for a series of major cultural, leadership and organisational change programmes.

Prior to his work at the University, Stuart spent time as a freelance training consultant, and in his early career has worked in both local government and the voluntary housing sector as a training officer.

Andrew Scott
Andrew Scott
Andrew Scott is a highly experienced Development Consultant, working independently since 1988.

He works with creativity and flair to enthuse people about learning and change. He has particular skills in leadership and career development coaching, in the facilitation of groups experiencing difficulties or major challenges in their work, and in working with individuals and organisations who are striving for exceptional results such as rapid and dramatic growth. He also draws from a wide range of interests - from his practical experience as a director of a Swimming Pool to his private interests in philosophy and music - to inform his work in stimulating ways.

Typical Interventions in which Andrew has been involved are
  • A series of Influencing Skills programmes to senior managers in Nationwide Building Society and Zurich Financial Services.
  • Working with Pubmaster on the design and implementation of an innovative development programme for the Executive and the Senior Management Teams.
  • Supporting a major change initiative at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, providing Coaching for Executive Board members, senior academic leaders, and support staff at all levels, including use of 360 feedback where appropriate and customised awaydays for key teams.
  • Designing and running a process to re-focus and re-build trust in a long-term partnership of five organisations (both public and private sector) which had started to stall.
  • A number of individual coaching assignments focusing on career and potential development with executives in a range of organisations from a Police Force to a Regional Regeneration Organisation.

He has worked with teams and individuals at all levels in organizations ranging from universities to the Police, and Financial Services to Manufacturing and fmcg. His current interests are exploring the ways in which we construct narratives to make sense of experience (for good or for ill); and persuading clients that a day’s walking in the Lake District is more likely to lead to breakthrough thinking than a week’s sitting in an office.

Mike Williams
Mike Williams and Partners
Mike is an international management consultant. He is the author of twelve published books - and many articles - on organisational behaviour, coaching, leadership and management. He served full time - and subsequently as a volunteer reservist - in the Royal Navy (Intelligence) and then the Royal Marines (SBS and Commando). He is a Russion linguist. Mike has an M.Sc in the fields of influencing management performance and the identification of executive potential.

He teaches at leading European Business Schools, as visiting Faculty, including IMD, Lausanne, IEDC, Bled and the Theseus Institute at Nice. Previously, he taught at IMI (Geneva) as visiting Faculty, for 10 years, at Ashridge and Templeton College, Oxford. He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Leadership Trust, who have pioneered leader development, in the UK since 1976.

He draws upon over twenty years’ managerial and leadership experience in the packaging, iron & steel, engineering , automotive and ceramic industries , including roles in manufacturing, sales and marketing, HR and organisation development. Mike is an accredited user of several MBTI and FIRO-B, TMS Team Management profiles and the Chally predictive psychometric system.

Ann Bowen-Jones

Ann is a skilled and highly experienced individual and team coach, facilitator, consultant and trainer with specialist expertise in:

Gwen Greaves

Gwen has extensive experience in management and leadership development in both public and private sectors.

Gwen had a successful career in Financial Services encompassing various disciplines including H.R. & Training, Marketing and Sales Management at National & Regional level, and as a Branch Manager for NatWest in the Thames Valley. She then applied her skills and knowledge to establish and run a small business, which provided invaluable, practical & commercial experience.

In 1995, Gwen chose to build on her own management training and experience, utilising her strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and moved into training & development consultancy. She works with managers at all levels in organizations and enjoys contributing to their development as managers and leaders. Gwen brings much positive energy, humour and understanding to her interventions. She is adaptable and sensitive to the needs of others and will challenge thinking and behaviour in a supportive way in order to bring about positive changes. She is fascinated by the dynamics of human behaviour and uses her experience, skills and knowledge to facilitate effective working relationships.
